Having a referral letter is helpful as it allows us to predict the condition of your foot, but you can also make an appointment by phone without one.
You will need to fill out the outpatient questionnaire and the foot questionnaire. First, a general examination will be conducted to assess your condition.
1. If it is determined that surgery is likely needed: Detailed examinations for surgery preparation will be conducted. We aim to reduce waiting times, but there may be delays due to crowded outpatient tests. On the first day, only the tests will be performed, and the results will be explained at your next visit. You will receive a brochure detailing the surgery and a consent form. Please read them carefully with your family, and we will answer any questions during your next consultation. The reason for splitting the process into two days is to give you ample time to consider whether to proceed with the surgery. Typically, the surgery will be scheduled for at least one month later (a provisional date can be set at this time). There will also be an outpatient consultation one week after the surgery.
Second Consultation: We will explain the results, discuss the suitability of surgery, obtain your signature on the consent form, decide on the surgery date, and explain the preparations for the day of the surgery.
2. If non-surgical treatment is to be performed: Detailed examinations and foot care guidance will be provided. At the next appointment, we will review the test results and re-evaluate your foot condition.
